3ARTS VILLAGE

Retail Development

Anyone growing up in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town will be familiar with the once iconic 3Arts Theatre in Plumstead. Depending on their age, they will remember it in its heyday in the 1960’s and 1970’s, when it was one of the leading venues in Cape Town and one of the very few that had a non-racial policy during the Apartheid era. In 1969, one theatre goer remembers a night out at the 3Arts as a “jaw dropping experience” with parking attendants, an imposing foyer, plush carpeting, great acoustics and a huge auditorium. The theatre was the venue of choice for many big international acts over the years.

THE BELLAMONT

Residential development

The Bellamont is a recently completed luxury residential development by FWJK Developments. It is situated on the sought-after Bellamont Road nestled on the coastal dunes of the ocean-side town Umdloti Beach in Kwa-Zulu Natal. The eastern facing site is on the precipice of a coastal dune forest and enjoys sharply elevated and unencumbered views of the Indian Ocean.

CURRO DURBANVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

Educational development

Curro Durbanville, a school managed by JSE-listed independent education provider, Curro Holdings, recently expanded its original grounds, resulting in a brand new, contemporary campus for the high school. Designed by BPAS Architects, the new campus showcases the very latest in education space design, which has been crafted with a learner-centric approach where their needs and aspirations have been taken into account throughout the design process.

THE CAPITAL MBOMBELA

Hotel and apartments

The Capital Mbombela, the brand new R205 million hotels in the heart of Mbombela, recently opened its doors to guests. It offers a choice of hotel rooms, apartments and a penthouse for business or leisure travel as well as cutting-edge conferencing facilities and a range of leisure and entertainment options. The new hotel is ±7,000m2 and is prominently situated at the entry of Mbombela, off the N4 highway on the corner of Penny Gum and Graniet Roads. The location of the site was chosen due to its high visibility and relationship to the nearby Ilanga Mall. The development comprises 100 hotel rooms and 50 apartment style rooms, 1 penthouse, a 120-seater state-of-the-art conference venue, meeting rooms and a restaurant area.
