Irene Link seamlessly blends into the vibrant heartbeat of the surrounding urban fabric and the tranquil, considered landscaping of the Irene Village area. This ongoing development is truly a connected precinct. A premium lifestyle development as conceptualised by joint venture holders, Abland Property Developers, Giflo Property Developers and Som Group offers the convenience of retail and commercial space in one flowing precinct, only a mere 500m away from the N1 highway. Irene Link’s P-grade office space is access.
The construction of a new 163,783m2 distribution centre (DC) to replace Pick n Pay’s existing DC operations and three smaller facilities was recently completed. This is the largest DC in South Africa and services all of Pick n Pay’s Inland stores. It is situated within Eastport Logistics Park, the flagship logistics development of Fortress Real Estate Investments, along the R21 in Kempton Park.
Developed by Barrow Properties, the new Premium Grade commercial office building 110 Oxford is integrated into the heart of the Oxford & Glenhove precinct, which is fast becoming the foremost office lifestyle precinct in the Rosebank CBD. Located within walking distance to the Gautrain Station, 110 Oxford is a showstopper, with the building’s sleekness echoing waves of design distinction across the Rosebank CBD. Designed by Paragon Architects, the building allows direct pedestrian access off Oxford Road and connects to a larger super-basement shared with the adjacent buildings.

Designed less to dazzle than to serve as a powerful symbol of the department’s central commitment to “secure a better quality of life for all”, the new building’s design arises from the foundational principles of its vision and values that reach back to the seminal statement in the Freedom Charter: “South Africa belongs to all those who live in it.”
Working with an empty shell over a number of floors, the design brief was to take into account Dimension Data’s global IT brand presence. The space was to convey a forward-thinking modernity and also allow for flexibility within the floorplan as the business adapts and grows. A number of departments sharing one space required the ability to accommodate different group sizes and stimulate collaboration within a variety of seating and meeting venues.
