HPI D-SCHOOL AFRIKA

University

The Hasso Plattner d-school Afrika, at the University of Cape Town (UCT), is the third Design Thinking institute in the world. It joins the well-established Institutes at Stanford University and at Potsdam University and is the only school in Africa dedicated to Design Thinking training. The d-school offers programmes in design thinking to undergraduates, post graduate students and organisations. The key objective is to promote, train and capacitate individuals and organisations in the practice and mindset of design thinking, as an enabler of innovation and new outcomes that can meet the needs of users in complex socio-political and economic contexts.

CHRIS HANI LECTURE THEATRE

University

Situated along the historic University Avenue at the University of Cape Town (UCT), The Chris Hani Lecture Theatre - formerly known as the New Science Lecture Theatre - was seen as an underutilised learning space on UCT’s Upper Campus and the steeply raked lecture theatre was not in keeping with contemporary learning requirements.
